Note the limits on usage, exports and features.

Seats, credits and add-ons often cost extra.
What is the price at renewal?
Introductory rates are often lower than year two.
How is usage counted?
Credits, tasks, minutes and words are not interchangeable between tools.
Can I use the output commercially?
Check the terms for the plan you would buy, not just the free one.

Read how prompts and files are stored and whether they can be used to improve the product.
Can I export my work and leave?
Your content, scripts and subscriber lists should come with you.
How hard is it to cancel?
Look for self-serve cancellation and the length of any refund window.
Would I notice if it disappeared next month?
Check usage after two weeks. If you forgot it, do not pay for it.
